Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using Folloop. These Terms are an agreement between you and Folloop ("Folloop", "we", "us", or "our"). Who operates Folloop is set out in our Privacy Policy. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

Folloop is a personal budgeting tool based on the zero-based cash-envelope method. It helps you plan, track, and visualise your spending across configurable envelopes. Folloop is not a bank, payment processor, or financial adviser. It does not hold, transfer, or have custody of any funds. Any bank or card integrations are read-only and provide no ability to move money.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet this requirement.

3. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials. You agree to notify us immediately at support@folloop.app if you suspect unauthorised access. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorised use of your account due to your failure to safeguard your credentials.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws or regulations.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Use automated tools to scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service.
• Transmit malware, viruses, or any code designed to disrupt or damage systems.
• Impersonate another person or entity.

5. Subscription & Billing

The Service is currently provided free of charge, and there is no billing of any kind. We may introduce paid tiers in future. If we do, the price and the terms of that tier will be presented to you before you are asked to pay, no charge will ever be made without your explicit agreement, and anything already in your account will remain accessible to you.

6. Your Content

You retain ownership of all data you enter into Folloop (envelopes, transactions, notes). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display your content solely to provide and improve the Service. We do not claim any ownership over your financial data.

7. Intellectual Property

All software, design, trademarks, and content comprising the Service (excluding your content) are owned by Folloop and protected by intellectual-property laws. You may not reproduce or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that financial data shown will be accurate or complete.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Folloop and its directors, employees, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or financial loss, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Our total liability to you for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Folloop from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time in Settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-protection laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of that country. Otherwise the courts of Ireland have jurisdiction. We would much rather sort a problem out by email first — write to legal@folloop.app.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
