Answers to common questions about Folloop.
Envelope budgeting is a zero-based method: you give your whole income a job at the start of each month by splitting it into named envelopes, then spend only what is in each one. Nothing is left drifting, so every euro is deliberate.
No. Folloop has no bank connection, no card details and no way to move money. Transactions get in one of two ways: you add them yourself, or you import a CSV statement — and that file is read inside your browser and never uploaded.
Yes. Create a joint hub from Hubs & people and invite your partner with a 6-character join code. Both of you see the same envelopes, who paid for what, a fair-share split and a settlement balance.
It depends on the envelope. By default an envelope resets to its budgeted amount when the new month starts, and anything unspent simply goes. Switch on "Rolls over" in the Budget Planner and the leftover is added on top of next month instead — which is what you want for anything you are saving towards. You can also change which day of the month the reset happens, in the Budget Planner under Monthly rules.
Go to Settings → Delete account. You will be asked to type your name to confirm. It removes your profile, your memberships, and any hub where you are the only member, along with everything in it. It cannot be undone, so export your data first if you want a copy.
Yes, at any time and without asking us. Settings → Export transactions as CSV gives you every transaction in the hub you are looking at. You own your data.
Partly. Once you have opened it, the app itself and the figures you last saw are cached, so it will load and show you where you stood. Adding or editing anything needs a connection — there is no offline queue, so do not rely on entering a spend with no signal and expecting it to arrive later.
Euro, US dollar, British pound, Brazilian real, Colombian peso and Swiss franc. Each hub uses a single currency, set in Settings. Changing it relabels your amounts — it does not convert them, because Folloop has no exchange rates and would rather show you nothing than a number it invented.
It is three things about the month you are looking at, weighted: how many of your envelopes are still within the budget you gave them (50%), how many of them have a budget at all (25%), how much of this month's budget you have not spent yet (25%). Each is scored out of 100 and combined into the number on Analytics. 85 or more is excellent, 70 or more is good, 55 or more is fair, and below that it needs work. It is a rough read on the month rather than a verdict on you — a low score early in the month usually just means you have not assigned everything yet.
Nothing, and there is no billing of any kind today — unlimited envelopes, unlimited hubs, full history and all the analytics. If paid tiers ever arrive, anything you already have will keep working and you will be told well before anything changes.
